Before I had even heard of ACIM, I was reading about Edgar Cayce, Alternative Healing, and other Metaphysical material.
So I was ready for something that would become the pinnacle of my searching efforts.
Although I was raised strict German Catholic, I rejected those teachings in favor of something that made more sense to me. This began a quest for a 'better way' in the mid to early 80's.
In 1988 in appreciation for the work that I did for one of my clients, an invitation was given me to join one of them in their home for a home cooked evening meal.
After the meal, my client removed the plate from my table dropped a book in it's place and stated flatly:
"You HAVE to read this!".
Curious, I opened the book and read the following introduction:
This is a course in miracles. It is a required course. Only the time you take it is voluntary. Free will does not mean that you can establish the curriculum. It means only that you can elect what you want to take at a given time. The course does not aim at teaching the meaning of love, for that is beyond what can be taught. It does aim, however, at removing the blocks to the awareness of love's presence, which is your natural inheritance. The opposite of love is fear, but what is all-encompassing can have no opposite.
This course can therefore be summed up very simply in this way:
Nothing real can be threatened.
Nothing unreal exists.
Herein lies the peace of God.
Intrigued by the introduction, I flipped through the onion skin pages randomly and began reading whatever my eyes fell upon.
Page after page, I recognized Truth as I read. I realized that this book truly WAS something I had to read.
This began a lifelong study of 'A Course in Miracles' (ACIM for short) that continues today.
During the conversation, I told David of my musical career, including the names of some of the artists I had worked with – awards received, and shared some of my spiritual interests.
Interested, David suggested we do a project together.
A short time later, David and I collaborated on our first project "The Science of Peace". After waiting over two years for a publisher to pick up the material and distribute it, David and I chose to self published the work and release it on his website.
The success was immediate and long lasting as it is still one of his top selling products.
In 2006 while doing research on related spiritual matters, I found Regina Dawn Akers website and read what appeared to be very similar writings to what is presented in ACIM. After reading several pages, I recognized the writings as the same voice that authored ACIM.
After the meal, one of the clients removed the plate from my table dropped a book in it's place and stated flatly "You HAVE to read this!"!
As with David Wilcock the year before, I 'cold called' Regina and asked her who she was and where the information come from.
Wasting no time, I downloaded the software, went into the chat room and listened. I was in the room no more than five minutes when the moderator, David Fishman, asked I if I would like to teach ACIM there.
Initially resisting the call, I eventually recognized that 'to teach is to learn' and decided to 'give in' to the teaching idea.
During the summer of 2008, I received a prompt to invite David to do another project together. As coincidence would have it (if you actually believe in them), when I called him, David was thinking the exact same thing and the two of us picked dates and times for when we would start to work on our next project.
He and I spent eight months collaboration on the new project – a spiritually based two and a half hour musical entitled "Wanderer Awakening".
Since it's release in April of 2009, thousands of people have downloaded this enlightening masterpiece and enjoyed the hero's journey that tells the story of a "Wanderer" who incarnates into physical form and completes it's life cycle by returning to Spirit.
Comprised of fifty songs including twenty-five narrations with underscoring, "Wanderer Awakening" is a synthesis of some of the teachings presented in "A Course in Miracles" and David's core spiritual belief system "The Law of One".
At one of the conferences where David and I performed selections from "Wanderer Awakening", it was suggested that I teach ACIM for an hour as a bonus for the attending participants.
I agreed and the response has been positive and rewarding and is now a regular part of the conferences that David and I do together.
David has asked me to start writing and teaching ACIM on his Divine Cosmos website. This area of his site is the answer to his request.
